Here at Red Gate Farm, LLC, we understand from experience how much planning, hope, and investment may be involved in selecting and purchasing just the right livestock guardian dog for your farm. We also understand, from our own experiences, how disappointing it can be when it doesn't work out as planned. These dogs are so much more than pets, after all! Properly raised, they become partners in the safety and security of your farm and livestock. Many people even use them as guardians for their human children, so they can play safely outside, without fear of large predators! Sadly, it is impossible to predict the future. No test results can guarantee the future health of your dog. Genetics, diet, training, and environment all combine to influence the traits of each dog as an individual. That said, we do everything we can to help ensure your investment is worthwhile, which allows you to focus on raising your new puppy. All Livestock Guardian Dog puppies bred by Red Gate Farm, LLC come with a health guarantee and a spay/neuter rebate certificate.
Red Gate Farm, LLC Puppy Health Guarantee
Health Guarantee: Your new puppy comes with current vaccinations, deworming, a health exam by a licensed veterinarian, a one year health guarantee, and a lifetime return guarantee.
All puppies are guaranteed to be in good health and free from visible signs of infection and contagious or communicable diseases when they leave our farm. Puppies crossing state lines will receive a veterinarian-issued travel health certificate.
Spay/Neuter Rebate: All puppies that leave our farm will come with a spay/neuter rebate certificate. If puppy is spayed/neutered prior to 8 months of age, only the rebate certificate and a copy of the spay/neuter certificate is required. After 8 months of age, the rebate certificate, accompanied by a veterinarian certificate of proof of spay/neuter and a veterinarian's signed statement that the dog has not whelped a litter, can be mailed to us for a rebate. This rebate claim must be sent to our farm within 3 months of the puppy's second birthday, unless other arrangements have been made (and accepted in writing).
Illness Guarantee: If you suspect your new puppy is sick within 3 days of arrival, it is the buyer's responsibility to take it to a licensed veterinarian. If, in the opinion of the veterinarian, the puppy is found to have any illness or condition considered to be life threatening and contracted prior to leaving our farm, we will provide you with your choice of a healthy replacement puppy (if available) of equal value, or a complete refund of puppy purchase price (less any travel or other fees). You must e-mail us a copy of the veterinarian's report within 24 hours of the exam, and the original copy must be returned with the puppy. This policy does not apply to puppies that are determined to have been injured or sickened due to the buyer's negligence.
Genetic Defect Guarantee: Puppies are guaranteed free of genetic defects for 1 year after their birth date. To qualify for this guarantee, you must have kept the puppy under the regular care of a licensed veterinarian. The care must include all vaccinations and a balanced diet as recommended by the veterinarian. To make a claim, you must send us a report from and signed by the veterinarian regarding the defect and a copy of ALL of your puppy’s health records.
1. The puppy may be returned to us for Buyer's choice of a full refund of purchase price or a replacement puppy of equal value (if available). The puppy must be returned in good, healthy condition (less the reported defect).
2. Buyer may choose to keep the puppy and receive a 50% refund of purchase price, or may purchase another puppy of equal value (if available) for half price.
No puppy shall be euthanized without written permission of seller, or guarantee is null and void.
Guarantee Does NOT Include: dietary, environmental, or management health issues. This may include, but is not limited to, hypoglycemia, coccidiosis, parasites, viral or bacterial infections, issues related to obesity, allergies, thyroid dysfunction, and demodectic mange. Red Gate Farm, LLC cannot be held responsible for non-genetic health issues that arise after the puppy leaves our farm. We are happy to consult with your veterinarian if necessary.
Financial Responsibility: All travel, transport, diet, and veterinary charges incurred by the buyer are the sole responsibility of the buyer and not refundable. If you feel the puppy is too costly, you may return the puppy to us at any time.
Lifetime Return Policy: We never wish to hear about one of our pups/dogs being needlessly abandoned, euthanized, or sent to rescues/shelters. If, at any time in the puppy/dog's life, you decide the partnership is not working, or if your plans simply change, we are happy to accept the puppy/dog back. There is no refund available in these cases, however, we can ensure your dog will be safely re-homed, either on our farm or another, as determined appropriate. In most cases, any return travel costs are the responsibility of the buyer, however, in some cases, we may be able to arrange shipping for a discounted rate. Please contact us.
